What |
The Children’s
Charities Coalition will sponsor a Kids Helping
Kids, One Step at A Time walk on
April 27, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at
9:00 a.m. This is a new fun, fundraiser
designed especially for kids! Entertainment and refreshments
will be provided at the end of the one, two or three mile
walk starting and ending in Shain Park, downtown Birmingham. |

Why |
The importance of
teaching children to give back to their community and provide
service to others has never been more important.
With schools and families working hard to instill positive
character traits in children, this is a perfect way to help
kids learn how to help other children who are less fortunate.
The four agencies of the Children’s’ Charities Coalition work
together to support programs and services for the children
they serve. The Coalition would be happy to send speakers to
classrooms to help children learn more about the agencies they
will be helping. Contact Connie Beckett
cbeckett@ameritech.net or Kelly Shuert
kshuert@shuert.com to schedule a speaker for your school.

|
Who |
The Children’s
Charities Coalition has served as a leader in raising
awareness, funding and support for the needs of more than
20,000 children in our community. More than 93% of the funds
raised are used for children’s programs, with administrative
expenses, etc. maintained at less than 7%.

|
How |
Kids have until April 27th to find
sponsors for their participation in this walk. They can ask
their neighbors, teachers, and grandparents, other family
members and friends, but they should NOT approach strangers
for this purpose. Our goal is for
each child to raise at least $75. Each child will
receive a Kids Helping Kids, One Step At A Time t-shirt. They
will then walk in the event on April 27; enjoy friendship and
fun and will also have an opportunity to meet celebrities
along the route and in Shain Park after the walk.
